Migraines

In the U.S. alone, around 39 million people suffer from migraines; this number is around one billion globally.

What is a Migraine?

Migraine headaches are a common medical condition that causes intensely painful sensations in the head. Migraines are often more debilitating than other kinds of headaches and cause significant disruptions in daily life, completely incapacitating many sufferers. Because they affect the cranial nerves, it is classified as a neurological condition.

Migraines are believed to be triggered by a variety of different things such as hormonal changes, food, stress and even changes in weather. Traditional treatments include medication, diet, and lifestyle changes but a certain percentage of the population still remain unable to prevent migraines. Chronic migraine sufferers endure at least 15 headache days a month, with at least 8 of those days presenting migraine features, for more than 3 months.
